In the bustling city of Tokyo, there stood a small, unassuming building that housed the offices of a forgotten gaming company called Taito. Though once a titan in the world of arcade gaming, Taito had long since faded into obscurity, overshadowed by bigger, more prominent names in the industry. But within those walls lay a legacy waiting to be rediscovered.

In the dimly lit corridors of the Taito headquarters, there was a sense of nostalgia that lingered in the air. Dust-covered arcade cabinets lined the halls, each one a relic of a bygone era. Among them stood the iconic machines that had once captivated the hearts of gamers worldwide: Space Invaders, Bubble Bobble, Double Dragon, and Arkanoid, even a little console game by the name of Little Samson, to name just a few.

Yet, despite their faded glory, the spirit of innovation burned brightly within the hearts of Taito’s employees. They toiled tirelessly, driven by a passion for gaming and a desire to reclaim their company’s former glory.

As the years passed, technology advanced at a staggering pace. The rise of home consoles and personal computers threatened to render arcade gaming obsolete. But Taito refused to be left behind.

In a bold move, they embraced emerging technologies, pushing the boundaries of what was possible in gaming. They experimented with early forms of virtual reality, creating immersive experiences that transported players to fantastical worlds beyond their wildest dreams.

Owned and Operated by Taito, the Megarage or “Mega Rage” is an Arcade Bar in Japan!

On the eve of their 70th Anniversary, they have kept their presence known in Japan using hi tech establishments like the Megarage and Exbar+, both of which have multiple floors of bar with game related drinks and food, and floors of classic to modern gaming. These facilities are also used as a testing ground for new developement including VR and AI powered gaming.

Another establishment owned and operated by Taito, a more upscale Bar and Arcade, with multiple floors and SELF SERVE TAPS!!

With the generations now in their 30’s and 40’s who grew up knowing the enjoyment and community gathering of an arcade to go and play for a little bit to take your mind off of the everyday frustrations, they understand that this is the time for some nostalgia!

The Taito Kids Space, for fun and education with modern amenities! Below is Taito Game Station locations, a modern take on the classic arcade!

“In Taito, we are looking for properties such as land and buildings that will be the site for amusement facilities. As a place where everyone can always feel connected with people and have a special experience.

We welcome you in a variety of locations, including shopping centers, other commercial facilities and roadblocks.”

These generations that grew up with these arcades, now have kids of their own, and they have spawned the home arcade, and as great as that is, (I have my own), it would still be great to have a place to take our kids with a plethora of different games to bring enjoyment and wonder to the next generation. They are doing this in Japan as well, its not just the bar scene for adults, they are buying up land and opening a modern take on the classic arcade.

Many classic arcades were created by Taito that we all remember fondly, and spent many a quarter and hour enjoying!!

Their dedication bore fruit when they unveiled their latest creation: a revolutionary arcade cabinet equipped with state-of-the-art motion sensors and haptic feedback technology. With a flick of the wrist, players could wield a virtual sword, swing through the air like a superhero, or pilot a spaceship through the depths of space.

The gaming world was awestruck by Taito’s innovation, and once again, the company found itself in the spotlight. Gamers flocked to arcades around the globe to experience the thrill of Taito’s cutting-edge creations.

But Taito’s journey was far from over. As the years rolled by, they continued to push the boundaries of gaming, exploring new frontiers in augmented reality, artificial intelligence, and beyond.

And though they may have been forgotten by some, Taito’s legacy lives on, inspiring future generations of game developers to dream big and never stop reaching for the stars. For in the world of gaming, as in life, true innovation knows no bounds. Game on my friends, Game on…
